As expected, Paris Saint-Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi comes into the Argentina starting lineup as a replacement for the injured Sergio Aguero and will play alongside Lionel Messi and Gonzalo Higuain in the attack.

Fernando Gago also keeps his place in midfield and play with former captain Javier Mascherano and Angel Di Maria.

Pablo Zabaleta and Ezequiel Garay are amongst the back four, as Argentina seek to join the likes of Netherlands, Germany, Brazil and France into the quarter-finals of the World Cup.

Bayern Munich attacker Xherdan Shaqiri, who scored a hat-trick in the last outing against Honduras, remains the standout player for Switzerland, who promise to make life very difficult for the South Americans.

Fabian Schar, Johan Djourou, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Ricardo Rodríguez will look to keep things tight at the back, as Switzerland look to stifle the attack of Argentina, which will be led by captain Messi.

Argentina will be hoping to continue the trend that has seen all six group winners booking quarter-finals spot so far at this year’s World Cup tournament.
