Heading into Week 8 of the English Premier League this weekend, let’s take a look at Chelsea’s best fantasy player in the league this season.

As expected, midfield playmaker Eden Hazard is the leading point collector for Premier League fantasy owners, but his score isn’t really spectacular.

Hazard, after eight games, has a total score of 27, which is to no real surprise, given the poor start Chelsea has made to the defense of its domestic league title.

The Belgian, who was the top man last season and went on to win the 2014-15 PFA Player of the Year award, has not been in the same form this term and it is not helping Chelsea at all.

Hazard, who had a rating of almost 8 out of 10 in the Premier League last season, currently has a Fantasy Premier League rating of 5.7 with a popularity of 30.3-percent.

For £11.3M Hazard’s Fantasy Premier League rating needs some improvement, but he is not one to leave out of your team in any week. He was rested in the Champions League defeat to Porto in midweek, but will return to the starting setup.

So long as he is fit he should be starting, as the 24-year-old only needs one moment of magic to change the outcome of any game against any opponent.

Hazard also has a BARCLAYS FAN RATING of 6.26, while his EA SPORTS PLAYER PERFORMANCE INDEX score is 128, which ranks him 20th.

Nemanja Matic is the next best Chelsea Fantasy Premier League scorer with 21. He has a popularity of 5.3%.

Young defender Kurt Zouma has scored 20 points for Fantasy Premier League owners, and Asmir Begovic has provided a total score of 15 for those who have picked the backup goalkeeper in their starting teams.

It hasn’t been a very good start to the season for the defending Premier League champions who currently sit 14th in the table standings on eight-points, eight behind leaders Manchester United after seven games.

Jose Mourinho admits that this is the ‘worst period in my career’ but the Portuguese experienced head coach vows to turn things around soon.

The Blues will take on Southampton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday and this game isn’t expected to be easy for Mourinho either.

He is not as popular as Hazard, but Graziano Pelle has a total score of 40 and leads the way for Southampton in the Fantasy Premier League. He has a form rating of 8 and an average of 7.01 among the fans.

Pelle is a strong favourite to add to his score in Week 8, so don’t leave this Saints forward out of your starting team.
