NEW YORK (Sporting Alert) — Florida State and Ohio State are the new No. 1 and No. 2 ranked teams in the latest BCS standings, following the defeat to Alabama on Saturday.
The Seminoles (12-0) and Buckeyes (12-0) recorded victories on a busy day of action Saturday afternoon to remain the only two perfect teams from the selected conferences that can have teams competing for the BCS National Championship title.
Auburn, which ended Alabama‘s undefeated run this season with a 34-28 Iron Bowl victory, is No. 3 in the BCS standings, with the two-time defending champions dropping three places to No. 4.
No. 5 is Missouri, while Oklahoma State and Stanford both moved up one slot to No. 6 and No. 7, respectively.
Completing the top ten in the rankings are South Carolina, Baylor and Michigan State.
The final pairing for the VIZIO BCS National Championship Game is to be announced next weekend. The Game will be played on Jan. 6, 2014.
