FINAL SCORE: Mounce Scores Career-High 29, Furman Past The Citadel 94-88

CHARLESTON, S.C. — Clay Mounce scored a career-high 29 points and Furman slipped past The Citadel 94-88 in a Southern Conference fixture on Wednesday. BOX SCORE

Mounce made 10 of 12 shots and made four 3-pointers.

Noah Gurley added 18 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three assists, Mike Bothwell added 17 points, made 7 of 15 shots, and grabbed eight rebounds, five assists, and four steals for the Paladins (9-3, 3-0 Southern Conference), who collected their fourth straight victory.

Alex Hunter had 10 points, five rebounds, four assists, and four steals, Garrett Hien ended with six points and six rebounds and Jalen Slawson finished with nine points, eight rebounds, and four assists for Furman, which shot 51.4% from the field.

Kaiden Rice made six 3-pointers and shot 7 of 14 from the field to finish with 20 points and six rebounds to pace The Citadel.

Hayden Brown added 18 points and 12 rebounds, and Tyler Moffe had 13 points and six rebounds off the bench and make 5 of 6 shots in the win for the Bulldogs (8-1, 1-1).

Stephen Clark tied a career-high with five blocks and grabbed five rebounds for The Citadel, which had its eight-game winning streak snapped.
