LONDON (Sporting Alert) -- Manchester United players Michael Carrick and Chris Smalling both start for England in their crucial FIFA World Cup Group H qualifier against Poland at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday night.

Andros Townsend has passed fit to start as well after being doubtful with a knock he picked up last week in the win over Montenegro.

Carrick comes into the starting lineup for Frank Lampard, while the banned Kyle Walker is replaced by Smalling, who has featured at right-back several times for both club and country.

The three-man attack force is led by Wayne Rooney, with Daniel Sturridge and Danny Welbeck joining him.

Steven Gerrard will play in the central role with Carrick, while Gary Cahill, Phil Jagielka and Leighton Baines start as well.

England must keep a very close eye on Borussia Dortmund star forward Robert Lewandowski, who leads the attack for Poland and has warned Roy Hodgson's men that it won't be a joy ride in their quest to book a place to Brazil.

England will qualifier for the World Cup with a win.
