MADRID, Sporting Alert – Former Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain had some very harsh words to say about his ex-team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo.

Higuain, who played four years with the Portugal international before moving to the Serie A to Napoli in 2013, believes Ronaldo has a rotten attitude that doesn’t sit well with him.

According to the Argentine, Ronaldo “has a lot of ego” and he demands to be called the best in the world.

Real Madrid signed Ronaldo from Manchester United in 2009 and the forward has been fruitful thus far.

The Spanish giants wanted to keep a hold of Higuain before he decided to leave, but the Argentine international says he could no longer share the same dressing room with Ronaldo, who he also thinks is a bit over-rated.

“He has a lot of ego. If you don’t say he’s the best, he’s not your friend,” he is quoted as saying by Don Balon.

“Cristiano thinks he’s the best but he’s over-rated.”

Higuain also compared Ronaldo to fellow Argentina countryman Lionel Messi.

“I’ve shared a dressing room with Messi and one is nothing like the other.”

Napoli have since come out in support of their star striker – denying the comments connected to Higuain in the magazine interview.

A statement released by the club read: “Napoli and Higuain categorically deny ever he has been granted an interview with ‘Don Balon'”.

“Therefore the sentences attributed to Higuain are considered false and without any foundation.”

It will be interesting hear comments from both Ronaldo and Higuain in the coming days.
