How many SEC basketball teams ranked in the AP Top 25?

The Southeastern Conference [SEC] has five ranked teams in Week 10 of the AP Top 25 men’s basketball ranking, released on Monday, January 9. The Big 12 also has five teams in the top poll to join the SEC as the joint leaders in the nation.

What are the SEC rankings now in the AP poll?

Alabama, at No. 4 is the highest ranked SEC team in the latest AP Top 25 men’s basketball rankings. The Crimson Tide (13-2) moved up from No. 7 in the national poll last week into the top 5 with 13-2 points. Alabama is currently sitting atop the SEC standing with a 4-0 league record.

Tennessee (13-2) is the second ranked SEC team in the AP top 25. The Volunteers picked up 1231pts this week and is up three spots from No. 8 in the national poll last week. Read more: Houston back atop AP Top 25 poll; K-State enters at No. 11

Meanwhile, Arkansas at No. 15 is the next highest ranked SEC team in the AP top 25 poll, but has dropped two places from No. 13 last week, while Missouri and Auburn round out the other teams in the conference in the national poll.

The Missouri Tigers, with a 13-2 overall record, held their spot at No. 20 nationally this week, while the Auburn Tigers inched up one spot from No. 22 this week.

Unfortunately for the SEC, Baylor (19) was among the four teams dropped from the rankings this week, although the Baylers (93pts) are receiving votes.
