No. 9 seed Ole Miss will take on No. 8 seed Vanderbilt in one of the opening round games at the 2022 SEC Baseball Tournament on Tuesday, 24 May and you can watch live streaming coverage and follow live scores and updates on SEC Network.

The two sides haven’t met this season, but Ole Miss and Vanderbilt have squared off five times last season, with Ole Miss taking two-of-three games in Oxford and the two teams splitting two games in Hoover.

The Rebels finished the season winning eight of their last 10 games, including five victories over top-15 opponents, four within the top-10.

Meanwhile, Ole Miss has qualified for the SEC Baseball Tournament for the 26th time in program history, including each of the last 10 tournaments and all but two seasons (2002 and 2011) during the Mike Bianco era.

The Rebels have reached the SEC Baseball Tournament finals six times, including two of the last three seasons. Ole Miss has won the SEC Tournament title three times, most recently in 2018. The Rebels won the inaugural tournament in 1977—hosted in Oxford—as well as the 2006 title in Hoover.

Ole Miss is has played in the fifth-most SEC Baseball Tournament games at 87 and has recorded the fifth-most wins with an even 44-43 all-time record—totals excluding pre-SEC Tournament era championship series.

In their most recent trip to Hoover in 2021, Ole Miss fought its way out of the loser’s bracket to reach the semifinals. After defeating Auburn in the opening round and falling to Vanderbilt, the Rebels received back-to-back stellar outings from pitchers Drew McDaniel and Tyler Myers to defeat Georgia and No. 2 Vanderbilt before falling to eventual champions No. 1 Arkansas.

Prior to that, Ole Miss made back-to-back SEC Baseball Tournament Championship appearances. The Rebels won four-straight games at the Hoover Met to claim the program’s third-ever tournament championship in 2018. The following year, Ole Miss again went on a run in Hoover to reach the title game, falling to Vanderbilt, which went on to win the National Championship.
