LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Former Liverpool forward Ian Rush believes striker Luis Suarez the best player in the world and believes it will take something very special to take him away from Reds.
Suarez has been the top man in the English Premier League this and currently leads the league with 19 goals.
Rush backs the Uruguay international to be even better than Real Madrid winger Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona forward Lionel Messi, adding that it would take £100 million to get the frontman’s service.
“Suarez is unbelievable,” Rush was quoted as saying to the Sunday Express. “What I am saying now is he is the best player in the world.
“People talk about Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi but they are not playing regularly through injuries right now in Spain. Suarez is, and he is doing it in the hardest league in the world.
“In Spain, you know normally it’s either Barcelona or Real Madrid winning the league. To do it consistently in the Premier League – the most demanding league in the world – that is special.
“I thought last season he and Gareth Bale were the two best players in the Premier League. You wondered whether that might be just a one-off for Suarez but he is even better now. He has taken his football to a different level.
“If you did sell Suarez you are talking about a fee of £100m. He has made a huge difference.”
