Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez headlines Mexico World Cup Squad

MEXICO CITY (Sporting Alert) — Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez of Manchester United and Giovani dos Santos of Villarreal headline the 23-member squad selected by coach Miguel Herrera to represent Mexico at the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil.

FC Porto duo Diego Reyes and Hector Herrera are also included in the team, so too is veteran defenders Carlos Salcido and Rafael Marquez, who is in line to feature at his fourth consecutive World Cup finals.

The squad, however, sees the omission of Javier Aquino of Villarreal, who had an impressive season in La Liga and Carlos Vela of Real Sociedad.
