Latest Big Ten College Football Score On Oct. 24: Week 8

LINCOLN, Neb., Sporting Alert – Big Ten College Football Scores and Recap from the games played in Week 8 on Saturday, October 24.

J.T. Barrett passed for 223 yards and three touchdowns and ran 13 times for 101 yards and two scores in his first start of the season, as No. 1 Ohio State cruised to a 49-7 win over Rutgers.

Barrett went 14 of 18 on passes before leaving in the fourth quarter and replaced by Cradle Jones, who opened the season as the starting quarterback and started the first seven games for the Buckeyes (8-0, 4-0 Big Ten).

Connor Cook threw four touchdown passes, and No. 7 Michigan State fended off the challenge from Indiana to secure a 52-26 win in Big Ten Conference action.

Cook completed 30 of 52 passes for 398 yards to help the Spartans (8-0, 4-0 Big Ten) continue their undefeated form on the season and stayed on course for the league crown.

Aaron Burbridge caught eight passes for 128 yards with a touchdown, R.J. Shelton took six catches for 76 yards and two touchdowns, while LJ Scott, Gerald Holmes and Delton Williams each rushed for scores in the win.

Michigan State led 21-20 at halftime and by two after the third quarter.

However, the hosts dominated the fourth – scoring 24 unanswered points – to run away with the victory.

Nate Sudfeld was 23 of 37 for 308 and three touchdowns for Indiana in the defeat.

Simmie Cobbs Jr. caught five passes for 108 yards and a touchdown.

The Hoosiers (4-4) are 0-4 in Big Ten action.

In Lincoln, Northwestern ended a two-game skid with a 30-28 victory over Nebraska.

Clayton Thorson threw for 177 yards and a score on 13 of 28 and also ran for another 126 yards and a score to lead the way for the Wildcats (6-2, 2-2 Big Ten), who were rebounding from back-to-back defeats to Michigan and Iowa.

Northwestern and Nebraska wrestled back-and-forth throughout the battle, but the visitors were able to grab the win in the end.

In another Big Ten contest in Week 8, Christian Hackenberg threw for 315 yards and three touchdowns, and Penn State held on for a narrow 31-30 win over Maryland 31-30.

Elsewhere, Wisconsin 24 turned back Illinois 13.

No. 1 Ohio States will take on Rutgers on the road in the late game, with J.T. Barrett on the verge of making his first start this term

The Buckeyes are hoping to improve to 8-0 on the season and 4-0 in Big Ten.
