GAME PREVIEW: No. 13 Wisconsin Badgers (3-1) vs. Rhode Island Rams (3-2 overall)

Wisconsin suffered a 67-65 defeat the unranked Marquette on Friday night and will aim to get back on track after falling nine places in the college basketball rankings. Rhode Island is in good for after losing its two games to open the season.

Defeats to Arizona State and Boston College left the Rams in a 0-2 record to start the campaign, but they have won three straight to move past .500. Rhode Island comes into this game on the back of a 76-63 win over Seton Hall on Wednesday night.

Wisconsin was able to schedule this meeting after its previous fixture in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge against Louisville was postponed due to COVID-19 protocols in Louisville’s program.

For Rhode Island, guard Fatts Russell is averaging 17.6 points, 3.6 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 2.2 steals from his five opening games. Fellow guard Jeremy Sheppard averages 11.6 points and 3.4 rebounds, while shooting 51.2% from the field and making 46.7% of his 3-point attempts. Antwan Walker leads the team in rebounds per game with 6.4, is also scoring 10.2 points and shooting a team-high 69% from open play.
