Zlatan Ibrahimovic has fired home from the penalty spot to give Manchester United a 2-0 lead in the 52nd minute. Jordy Clasie made a poor challenge on Luke Shaw inside the area and referee awarded a penalty. Ibrahimovic smartly stepped up to send the goalkeeper the wrong way. For Ibrahimovic, it’s not three games and four goals. Manchester United leads Southampton 2-0.

A wonderful teasing cross from the right hand side by Wayne Rooney was well met with a super header from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who powers home pass the goalkeeper to give Manchester United the lead in the 36th minute of play. For Ibrahimovic, it’s not three games, three goals. Manchester United leads Southampton 1-0.

Pogba, who is returning to the Red Devils after leaving the club in 2012, comes into the starting line-up for Ander Herrera, as manager Jose Mourinho makes one change from the side that won 3-1 at Bournemouth in their opening game last Sunday.

The Frenchman, who was suspended for the game last week, is expected to play a little more forward than he did during his time with Juventus, with Marouane Fellaini starting alongside him in the central midfield areas.

Pogba, who played a total of 225 minutes for Manchester United, has also played 67 Premier League minutes before tonight’s game.

He scored 8 goals last season for Juventus in the Serie A, but is yet to score for Manchester United’s senior team.

Daley Blind and Eric Bailly will continue to pair off in the heart of the defence, despite Chris Smalling returning from suspension.

with Luke Shaw and Antonio Valencia playing again as the full-backs.

Wayne Rooney, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Antonio Martial and Juan Mata all retained their respective starting places from the Bournemouth’s contest.

Ashley Young, Marcus Rashford, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Morgan Schneiderlin are among the subs.

Meanwhile, Pierre Hojbjerg makes his first start for Southampton as his one of two changes made by manager Claude Puel.

Hojbjerg comes into the side that drew with Watford in the opening-day game, and is a replacement for James Ward-Prowse, while Jose Fonte comes back in the central defence for Maya Yoshida.

Forwards Jay Rodriguez and Charlie Austin are among the substitutes tonight for Southampton.
