CORAL GABLES, Fla. — The Miami Hurricanes’ Coral Gables Regional NCAA baseball game against Texas Tech has been postponed until Monday, with a resumption time yet to be determined.
The game was delayed after a player and two coaches were ejected, following a heated incident involving the two schools at Alex Rodriguez Park – Mark Light Field.
Another stoppage was caused by hard rain, which forced the officials to call-off the day’s action.
The game will resume with Miami trailing 1-0 in the top half of the eighth inning and Hurricanes need a win.
A victory for them over Texas Tech, would setup a deciding game between the two sides again to see who advanced super regionals.
Miami needs to beat the Red Raiders two times to extend their postseason.
The second game, if needed, is at the moment, scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday night.
If the Hurricanes lose, they will be eliminated from the postseason.
A victory for Texas Tech would put them in the super regionals.
