MIAMI, FL, Sporting Alert – NBA Preseason scores and results from the games that took place on Monday night, Oct. 12. Leading the headlines was Kyle Lowry, who scores 40pts for the Raptors.

RAPTORS 112, TIMBERWOLVES 107

TORONTO — Kyle Lowry extended his impressive NBA preseason form on Monday night after he scored 40 points, and the Toronto Raptors beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 112-107.

Lowry went 13 of 18 from the field, 6 of 9 from three-point range, while going 8 of 8 from the line on his way to breaking Toronto’s record for points in a preseason game, which was set by Vince Carter, who score 38.

Cory Joseph ended with 14 points and four assists off the bench, Jonas Valanciunas had 13 points and six rebounds and Luis Scola finished with 12 points.

DeMarre Carroll added 11 points and eight rebounds in the win for the Raptors (3-1).

Meanwhile, the Timberwolves remain winless in the 2015 NBA preseason, after dropping its third straight exhibition.

Reigning NBA Rookie of the Year Andrew Wiggins led the way for Minnesota (0-3) on the night with 21 points on 6 of 10 shooting from the floor, including 2 of 2 from deep, in 18 minutes.

First overall pick Karl-Anthony Towns was kept quiet on the night, scoring seven points with six rebounds in 23 minutes. Fellow rookie Tyus Jones played 13 minutes off the bench again and took one shot. He finished without a point, but had four assists.

Nemanja Bjelica had 12 points and four rebounds and Gorgui Dieng ended with 11 points on 4 of 5 shooting from the floor, and six boards.

GRIZZLIES 91, CAVALIERS 81

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Zach Randolph scored 14 points, and Memphis held Cleveland to 38.5-percent from the field to secure a 91-81 NBA preseason win at Ohio State on Monday night.

Fan favourite LeBron James scored 14 points in 26 minutes for the Cavaliers, and got the crowd and his team-mates going with a breakaway dunk off a Grizzlies turnover in the third quarter.

Jeff Green and Courtney Lee each scored 11 points for Memphis, while Marc Gasol and Jarnell Stokes added 10 points each.

Jared Cunningham finished with 13 points off the bench for the Cavs, who like the Wolves, are still searching for their first win of the 2015 NBA preseason.

The Cavaliers played without a lot of its fire-power, which included Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson, Kyrie Irving, Iman Shumpert, Mo Williams and J.R. Smith.

PELICANS 123, BULLS 115

CHICAGO — Anthony Davis scored 26 points on 10 of 16 shooting, and knock down his only three-point attempt, as the New Orleans Pelicans picked up a 123-115 NBA preseason win over the Chicago Bulls on the road.

Davis, who played 27 minutes, also pulled down eight rebounds in the win.

Sean Kilpatrick added 23 points off the bench and Tyreke Evans and Ryan Anderson each finishing with 18 for New Orleans.

Anderson, who went 4 of 6 from three-pointers, also collected a team-high 10 rebounds for the Pelicans.

Rookie Bobby Portis paced the Chicago Bulls with 20 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks in 31 minutes from a reserve role.

Doug McDermott added 17 points and eight rebounds off the bench, Tony Snell added 15 points, and Pau Gasol ended with 14 points and seven for Chicago, which was without star point guard Derrick Rose, who remains out with a left orbital fracture.
