NBA Scores, Results and Recap on Nov. 4

(Sporting Alert) — The Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors both picked up wins, but the Boston Celtics continue to hunt their first win of the season, following another defeat on the road.

At STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, Chris Paul scored 23 points and dished out 17 assists and the Clippers hammered the Houston Rockets 137-118 on Monday night for their third win in a row.

J.J. Redick scored 19 of his 26 points in the first half, reserve Jamal Crawford had 21 points and Blake Griffin had 18 points and seven rebounds for the Clippers, who equalled a franchise record when scoring 78 points in the first half, which included 42 in the opening quarter.

Omri Casspi had 19 points and nine rebounds and James Harden added 15 points, Jeremy Lin and Chandler Parsons scored 14 and Dwight Howard finished with 13 points and nine rebounds for the Rockets, who were suffering their first loss of the season.

Also winning on Monday night were the Golden State Warriors, who handed the Philadelphia 76ers their first defeat of the season, following a 110-90 rout.

Andre Iguodala scored a game high 32 points and Stephen Curry finished with a triple-double of 18 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds in the win for the Warriors.

Suffering their first loss of the season as well were the Minnesota Timberwolves, who were edged 93-92 by the Cleveland Cavaliers after Kevin Love watched his 3-point try bounced off the back rim with 1.9 seconds left in the game.

C.J. Miles scored 19 points and Kyrie Irving had 15 points, eight rebounds and six assists for the Cavaliers, who got 10 points, four rebounds and three blocks from Andrew Bynum off the bench.

Kevin Martin scored 23 points and Kevin Love added 17 in the loss for the Timberwolves.

In the meantime, the Boston Celtics were beaten 95-88 by the Memphis Grizzlies, losing their fourth successive game and their third on the road.

The defeat left rookie head coach Brad Stevens still searching for his first win, while Boston, for the first time since the 1969-70 season, lost its opening four games.
