BATON ROUGE, La., Sporting Alert – Scores and results from the NCAA DI Baseball Regionals tournament games that took place on Monday, June 7.

There were seven games on the schedule on Monday, as Rice forced a second game with LSU, while UC Santa Barbara, Arizona and Texas Tech all booking places into the Super Regional round after winning their respective tournaments.

After routing the Southeastern Louisiana Lions 15-0 in the first game of the Baton Rouge Regionals at Alex Box Stadium on Monday, Rice (38-23) fended off elimination against No. 1 seed LSU (44-19) with a 10-6 victory in the second game to force another battle in the double-elimination format of the tournament.

The Owls tallied their 10 runs on 13 hits, while the No. 5 nationally ranked Tigers tallied its 6 runs on 15 hits.

Tuesday evening’s NCAA Regional championship game in Baton Rouge will start at 5 p.m. ET with the winner advancing to the Super Regionals.

Meanwhile, Texas Tech joined the top fives ranked team advancing to the super regional round, after beating Dallas Baptist at the Lubbock Regionals.

The Red Raiders (44-17) clinched a spot in the weekend’s NCAA Super Regionals, which they will host against East Carolina – with a 5-3 win against the Patriots (44-19), who had knotted the game at 3-3 in the sixth inning.

At M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field, Arizona outscored No. 1 tournament seed and host Lafayette (43-21) to secure the Lafayette Regionals and also booked a place in the weekend’s super regional round.

After forcing a second game with a 6-3 win earlier in the day, the Wildcats (42-21) beat the Ragin’ Cajuns 3-1 in a winner-take-all regional championship game to advance.

In another game on Monday, UC Santa Barbara (40-18-1) booked a super regional round place with a convincing 15-4 victory over Xavier (32-30).
