DALLAS, Sporting Alert – NFL scores, box scores and results from the clashes that took place in Week 5 on Sunday, October, 9.

NFL SCORES: PATRIOTS 33, BROWNS 13

Tom Brady returned from suspension to lead the New England Patriots to a crushing 33-13 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.

Brady, who missed the opening four games of the season due to the “Deflategate” suspension, looked as sharp as he’s ever been – passing for 406 yards and three touchdowns to Martellus Bennett in his season debut.

The veteran quarterback, who received a warm reception and had numerous “Welcome Back” posters made for him, went 28 of 40 on completed passes without an interception, while Bennett took six of his eight targets for 67 yards with his three scores.

Chris Hogan caught four passes for 114 yards and Rob Gronkowski had five catches for 109 yards for New England.

The Patriots (4-1) were bouncing back from the 16-0 shut out to the Buffalo Bills in Week 4.

Sunday’s result saw the Browns (0-5) falling to their fifth successive defeat, despite scoring the first seven points of the contest.

NFL SCORES: VIKINGS 31, TEXANS 13

Sam Bradford went 22 of 30 on completed passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns and the Minnesota Vikings stayed undefeated this season with a 31-13 victory over the Houston Texans.

Adam Thielen took seven of his eight targets and finished with a career-high 127 receiving yards and a score for Minnesota (5-0).

The Vikings opened the contest with a 24-0 score and led 31-6 early in the fourth quarter.

Brock Osweiler was 19 of 42 on passes for 184 yards and one touchdown with an interception, while he was sacked four times for the Houston Texans.

NFL SCORES: PACKERS 23, GIANTS 16

Aaron Rodgers went 23 of 45 on completed passes for 259 yards with two interceptions and threw touchdown passes to Davante Adams and Jordy Nelson and the Green Bay Packers defeated the New York Giants 23-16 in Sunday Night Football.

Randall Cobb caught nine of his 11 targets for 108 yards and Eddie Lacy, who left the game with an ankle injury in the third-quarter rushed for 81 yards on 11 carries in the win for the Packers (3-1), who won two in a row.

Eli Manning passed for 199 yards and one touchdown without an interception, while Odell Beckham Jr. took a touchdown pass, but was limited to just 56 yards for the Giants (2-3), who fell to their successive defeat of the season after winning their opening two games to the campaign.

The Packers offense tallied 406 total yards in the win, while the Giants, who trailed 23-6 with 6:39 left in the fourth quarter, finished with 219.

NFL SCORES: LIONS 24, EAGLES 23

Matt Prater made a 29-yard field goal with 1:28 left and Darius Slay had a key interception on the next snap, and the Detroit Lions handed the Philadelphia Eagles their first defeat of the season with a 24-23 victory over on Sunday.

Matthew Stafford completed 19 of 25 passes for 180 yards and three touchdowns and Theo Riddick took two catches for scores for the Lions (2-3), who snapped a three-game losing streak with the win.

Carson Wentz was 25 of 33 for 238 yards with two touchdowns and one interception for Philadelphia, which had won three in a row before Sunday’s defeat.
