ATHENS, Ohio — — Jason Preston and Dwight Wilson III recorded a double-double each and the Ohio Bobcats easily brushed aside the Purdue Northwest Pride 92-72 in their college basketball game at Convocation Center on Thursday.
Preston put together 22 points and 11 assists and shot the ball very well, going 10-for-15 from the field, while grabbing 5 steals and three assists for Ohio (4-1).
Wilson III was also efficient shooting the ball he went 8-for-13 on his way to collecting a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Lunden McDay added 14 points and four rebounds, while Ben Vander Plas had 13 points, seven rebounds and six assists for the Bobcats to win two straight.
Miles Brown finished with 11 points and three steals off the bench for Ohio, as only one of its five starters failed to score in double figures.
Jyrus Freels had 19 points on 9-for-17 shooting from the floor to go with eight rebounds for Purdue Northwest, while Vincent Miszkiewicz added 10 rebounds and six points for the Pride, who shot 44.3% on 27-of-61 attempts.
Purdue Northwest also shot 41.2% from 3-pointers (7-17).
As a team, Ohio had 24 assists on 36 made basket, while shooting 36-of-68 for 52.9% overall. The Bobcats, however, struggled from 3-point range after made just 6 of the 23 attempts for 26.1%
