Taking the courts on yet another busy day of action at the U.S. Open are No. 1 seeds Serena Williams of the United States and Serbian Novak Djokovic.
Women’s top seed and two-time defending champion Serena Williams will face the 11th-seeded Flavia Pennetta of Italy at Arthur Ashe Stadium in one of the two other women’s singles quarterfinals on the day.
In the other quarterfinals on the women’s side, former No. 1 and 16th-seeded Victoria Azarenka takes on Russian 17th-seeded Ekaterina Makarova who will be hoping to improve on her productive run so far in the last eight major championships.
In an enticing matchup on the men’s side, top seed Djokovic will meet British eighth-seeded Andy Murray at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Third-seeded and Australian Open champion Stan Wawrinka of Switzerland will take on Japan’s 10th-seeded Kei Nishikori in the other quarterfinals game at Arthur Ashe Stadium on Day 10.
