GRIZZLIES 82, HAWKS 81
ATLANTA — Zach Randolph scored 19 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Memphis Grizzlies to an 82-81 preseason win over the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night.
Point guard Mike Conley connected on a 3-point shot with 53 seconds left to put the Grizzlies up 79-77 and Marc Gasol hit two free throws in the closing seconds to help setup the win as Memphis rallied from a double-digit deficit to remain unbeaten in the preseason schedule.
Kent Bazemore led the Hawks with 18 points, Paul Millsap added 17 points, nine rebounds, four steals and three assists and Al Horford had 13 points and 14 rebounds in the defeat.
Atlanta (4-2) will conclude its preseason schedule on Friday at Detroit, an early view of the regular season opener for these two sides.
Memphis (6-0) end its preseason action on Friday as well with a trip to the Orlando Magic.
HEAT 110, WIZARDS 105
MIAMI — Gerald Green scored 28 points, including 13 in the fourth quarter, and the Miami Heat used a big last quarter to beat the Washington Wizards 110-105 in a preseason game Wednesday night.
Green, who played 25 minutes off the bench, shot 8 of 14 from the field and grabbed nine rebounds for the Heat (4-3), who have won three in a row.
Dwyane Wade finished with 3 of 11 from the floor, but scored the go-ahead bucket to put Miami in front 105-106 with 40.8 seconds left.
Marcin Gortat scored 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the Wizards (4-2), with Kris Humphries adding 16 points and 12 rebounds in the defeat.
John Wall and Otto Porter Jr. each scored 14 points for Washington which played without star guard Bradley Beal, who was rested.
HORNETS 99, PISTONS 94
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Nicolas Batum collected 18 points and 10 rebounds, and the Charlotte Hornets stopped the Detroit Pistons 99-94 on Wednesday night to improved to 7-0 in preseason.
Batum, who played a team-high 33 minutes, also dished out six assists.
Jeremy Lin, starting at point guard for Kemba Walker, who remains out with a left heel bruise, also scored 18 points, while Al Jefferson finished with 17.
Troy Daniels added 15 for the Hornets.
Andre Drummond led the Pistons with 21 points and 15 rebounds, with Marcus Morris collecting 12 points, five boards and three steals.
Reggie Jackson finished with 10 points and 11 assists for Detroit.
