ATHENS, Ga. —— Kario Oquendo scored 22 points and SEC side Georgia defeated Chattanooga 72-65 in a college basketball at Stegeman Coliseum here in Athens, Georgia, in front of 7,918 fans on Wednesday. Oquendo shot 7 of 11 from the field and made two 3-pointers and had two steals for the Bulldogs in the win.
Terry Roberts added 14 points and six assists, Braelen Bridges ended with 12 points and Jailyn Ingram finished with 10 points and also hit two 3-pointers for Georgia, which shot 52% in the second half and 45% overall. Read more: How many SEC basketball teams are ranked in the top 25?
Jamal Johnson had 23 points and connected on six shots from 3-pointers for Chattanooga. He made 7 of 12 shots from the field overall and added five rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
Jake Stephens finished with 10 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and two blocks and Dalvin White chipped in with 10 points and four assists in the defeat for the Mocs (8-5) who slipped to 3-3 on the road this season. The Chattanooga team was 38.2% on 21 of 55 overall and made 14 shots from 3-pointers and finished with 35.9%.
