SEC Volleyball: Kentucky Predicted to Win 2023 SEC Volleyball Season

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Kentucky Wildcats, a team that has consistently shared or won the SEC volleyball regular-season title since 2017, is once again the top choice to win the 2023 season, according to the SEC Preseason Coaches’ Poll.

Kentucky, which finished last season with a 22-8 overall record and 15-3 in conference play, secured 10 of the 13 first-place votes and 142 points in the preseason poll.

Florida, the co-champion with Kentucky last season, earned two first-place votes and 129 points, placing second in the poll. – Read more: Texas heads preseason Power 10 DI women’s volleyball rankings

Tennessee, with 113 points and one first-place vote, ranked third, followed by Georgia with 106 points. Arkansas and LSU claimed fifth and sixth places with 101 and 96 points, respectively.

The Wildcats also led the league with four players named to the 2023 Preseason Volleyball All-SEC Team, including Eleanor Beavin, Emma Grome, Reagan Rutherford, and Azhani Tealer. No other team had more than two players on the list.

The 2023 SEC volleyball season is set to kick off on Friday, August 25, with conference play starting on Wednesday, September 20.

The Kentucky Volleyball team will begin its season with a road trip to Colorado State and Northern Colorado.

All home matches in 2023 will take place at Rupp Arena due to ongoing renovations at Memorial Coliseum.
