(Sporting Alert) — Manchester United will be hoping to close the gap on the top four when they travel to the Britannia Stadium for a tricky fixture against Stoke City in a Barclays Premier League on Saturday.
The arrival of playmaker Juan Matta and fitness boost of strikers Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie, has give David Moyes lots of exciting options for the clash, with all three players expected to feature on the road trip.
Both Rooney and Van Persie returned to action from respective injuries in Tuesday’s win over Cardiff City at Old Trafford, although Rooney started the game on the bench.
Midfielder Marouane Fellaini could also be in the squad after recovering from wrist surgery. Captain and center-back Nemanja Vidic will serve the final game of a three-match ban.
Stoke manager Mark Hughes could hand home debuts to forwards Peter Odemwingie and John Guidetti.
Guidetti, who joins the side on loan from Manchester City, was not please with playing just four minutes off the bench in the last game.
Midfielder Steven Nzonzi will miss the game after he was sent off in the 1-0 defeat to Sunderland in midweek for two bookable offences.
