BROOKLYN (Sporting Alert) — Kevin Durant and Oklahoma City Thunder will look to extend their winning streak in the NBA against the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center on Friday night.
Oklahoma City (37-10) is on a nine-game winning streak and is still smarting from the 112-95 victory at the Miami Heat on Wednesday night.
Meanwhile, forward Andrei Kirilenko will not play for the Nets (20-23) because he’s carrying a calf injury, head coach Jason Kidd revealed.
“We’ll see how he feels tomorrow,” Kidd said. “It’s not that we’re concerned … but we’re going on the safer side of sitting him out tonight and seeing how he feels tomorrow.”
Kirilenko underwent an MRI on Thursday and it came back negative. He missed Brooklyn’s last two practices with the sore right calf problem.
The game will see Durant looking to extend his own streak of scoring more than 30 points. He’s so far done it in 12 consecutive games and is averaging 38 points in this span.
