TULSA, OK, Sporting Alert – No. 18 Memphis will hope to continue its impressive run this season with another win when they visit Tulsa here at Chapman Stadium on Friday night.

The Tigers (6-0) stayed undefeated and cracked into the AP Top 25 college football rankings for the first time this season with a stunning 37-24 victory over Ole Miss last weekend and the American Athletic Conference title contenders will want to stay in the hunt with another victory.

Memphis heads into this battle with Tulsa ranked 4th in points for per game, at 46.0, while passing for 343.2 yards per games – which is 11th in the country.

Junior quarterback Paxton Lynch is also having an impressive year for the Tigers – passing for 1919 yards and 13 touchdowns with only one interception.

Tulsa, in the meantime, will be looking to improve on its 3-3 record on the season, while seeking to move up in the conference standings.

The Golden Hurricane are coming off a 30-17 defeat to East Carolina and are yet to win in conference play.

The hosts for Friday night’s game have also dropped three of the last four games, while on average this term, they are allowing 34.8 PPG and scoring 33.0 per contest.

Memphis has scored 276 total points this season, the most in the American Athletic Conference so far, while giving up a total of 158 points in the six games.

Tulsa, on the other hand, has allowed 209 points against from six outings, while scoring 200 in total on the season.

In their two conference wins, the Tigers have put up 77 points and allowed 63.

The Golden Hurricane have scored 41 points and allowed 68 in their two conference defeats.
