Back To Back Wins For Winthrop
It was the second meeting in less than 24 hours between these two schools after Winthrop also edged past Campbell 84-83 in the previous meeting on Wednesday.
In Thursday’s win, Vaudrin completed his seventh career triple-double with 10 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists, while Adonis Arms and D.J. Burns Jr. each scored 15 points.
Burns shot 7 of 10 from the floor in his 14 minutes of action, while Arms was 5 of 9 shooting the ball and added five assists in his performance off the bench.
Reserve Chase Claxton had 14 points on 6 of 8 shooting to go with eight rebounds and Charles Falden ended with 11 points and made 3 of his 4 attempts from 3-point range in the win.
Falko Scores 22pts, Leads Gardner-Webb Over Hampton 80-69
Kyle Zunic scored 10 points for the Eagles (7-0, 4-0 Big South Conference) who remains atop of the league standings.
Jordan Whitfield scored 20 points to lead the way for Campbell, which fell to 0-2 in conference play.
Cedric C. Henderson Jr. added 15 points and four rebounds, while Jesus Carralero finished with 12 points, five rebounds, five assists, and two steals for the Fighting Camels (4-5, 0-2) who were losing for the fifth straight time after starting the season 4-0.
Campbell shot 44.2% from the field and made 25 of its 33 attempts from the free throw line.
Winthrop shot 58.7% in the win and overpowered the Fighting Camels 41-19 in rebounding.
