Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew is facing a hefty fine after he head-butted David Meyler of Hull City during English Premier League on Saturday.
Meylar and the Newcastle boss clashed on the touchline after Hull City midfielder, going for a ball for a throw, appeared to have bumped into Pardew, who then reacted angrily by head-butting the player.
Pardew was sent-off for his behaviour and is now expected to be slapped with a heavy fine by the league.
Newcastle, which led 3-1 at the time of the ugly incident, went on to win the game 4-1.
“Alan Pardew has just head-butted David Meyler. Yes head-butted. Inexcusable from a manager,” Gary Lineker said on BBC Sport.
Meanwhile Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko, who scored twice today in the victory was too interested in the incident.
“I don’t know, I was too far away I didn’t see what happened,” he said.
“It’s a small thing. The most important thing is we won.”
