The East team of Paul George of the Indiana Pacers, Wall of the Washington Wizards and Terrence Ross of the Toronto Raptors, won the new format of the slam dunk competition very easily.

However, it was Wall, in his first dunk contest, who stole the headlines with a standing ovation slam that signaled “the return of the slam dunk contest.”

The Washington Wizards’ star point guard delivered the winning dunk by leaping over a Wizards mascot as he collected the ball from in front of the mascot’s head before finishing things off with a double-pump, reverse, two-handed jam.

His effort eliminated Sacramento Kings’ Ben McLemore, who was hoping to stop the sweep.
