The Los Angeles Clippers and Denver Nuggets will renew their rivalry in one of the five games down on Christmas Day when they meet in a repeat of a Western Conference semi-final series from last season.
Los Angeles Clippers (1-0) vs. Denver Nuggets (0-1)
Friday’s game in Denver tips off at 10:30 p.m. with ESPN providing the live television broadcast. Fans can also stream the game on their Amazon Fire TV, Firestick, Ruku, and other smart devices via the ESPN App and WatchESPN.com.
The Nuggets enter as a one-point favorite with the over/under set at 223 points.
The Christmas Day matchup is the first meeting between the two teams since the Nuggets came from two games down to beat the Clippers in the conference semi-finals.
Los Angeles blew a 3-1 lead to lose the series to Denver, which prevented a highly anticipated matchup with the Lakers in the conference finals in September.
On Friday, Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, and company will seek to redeem themselves after their dismal performance against the Nuggets cost Doc Rivers to lose his job as the Clippers head coach.
LA Clippers Won Opener, Nuggets Lost Theirs
The Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 116-109 on the opening night of the NBA season with George scoring 33 points and Leonard ending with 26 in the win.
George is shooting 62.5% from 3-pointers after making five of the eight attempts he took in the win on the opening night.
Meanwhile, the Nuggets suffered a 124-122 defeat against the Sacramento Kings in overtime Wednesday night.
Nikola Jokic recorded a triple-double with 29 points, 15 rebounds and 14 assists for Denver in the defeat and he is expected to be a handful for the Clippers on Friday.
Michael Porter Jr. supported with 24 points, but Jamal Murray was limited to just nine points and was 1-for-9 shooting and made 7-of-7 from the free-throw line before fouling out late in regulation.
INJURIES: Nuggets: Greg Whittington: out (left knee), JaMychal Green: out (calf).
Clippers: Marcus Morris: day to day (knee).
