The Volunteers (4-0) had a comfortable 103-49 over Tennessee Tech last Friday night and they will be hoping to extend that winning streak with another victory.
That win was the eighth-largest margin of victory in school history and the 103 points are the most the Volunteers have scored since Jan. 15, 2019 against Arkansas in a 106-87 win.
Tennessee would even the all-time series with Saint Joseph’s at two wins apiece. A win would also improve the Vols record to 28-14 against current members of the Atlantic-10 Conference.
The Hawks (0-4) have faced two ranked teams already this season, losing both by double figures, including the 88-68 defeat against then-No. 7 Villanova at the weekend. Saint Joseph’s also lost 94-72 to then-No. 6 Kansas on Nov. 2.
Ryan Daly and Taylor Funk are expected to be a handful for Tennessee on Monday night. The pair are both averaging double figures in scoring.
Daly is scoring 18.3 points per game and 6.0 rebounds, while Funk is putting out 16.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game for the Hawks.
For the Volunteers, John Fulkeson leads the team in points and rebounds per game. He is scoring 12.8 points with 6.5 rebounds. Jaden Springer is scoring 12.5 and Victor Bailey Jr. is averaging 10.8.
Josiah-Jordan James comes in averaging 10.5 points and 6.0 rebounds for Tennessee, which is scoring 75.8 points as a team and is giving up 47.5 through four games.
