KANSAS CITY (Sporting Alert) — With a World Cup place already in the bag, the United States will take the chance to give some players a runout for the national team in a CONCACAF qualifier against Jamaica in Kansas City on Friday night.

Everton No. 1 Tim Howard will captain the team tonight in the absence of Clint Dempsey and the veteran goalkeeper will assume the position he held in February in a World Cup qualifier against Honduras and at Bosnia & Herzegovina in a friendly game in August.

Jozy Altidore and Aron Johansson have been selected to lead the attacking line for USA, with Mikkel Diskerud, Landon Donovan, Alejandro Bedoya and Jermaine Jones starting in the midfield.

DaMarcus Beasley and Geoff Cameron are among the starters in defense.

Hard hitting midfielder Rodolph Austin captains Jamaica tonight, while Ryan Johnson, Darren Mattocks and Deshorn Brown play in a three man attacking line.

Duwayne Kerr starts in goal, with Wes Morgan, Jobi McAnuff and Je-Vaughn Watson winning starting places as well.
