In team news, Jose Basanta, as expected starts for Argentina in place of left-back Marcos Rojo, who misses the game because of a one-match suspension.

He joins Ezequiel Garay, Martín Demichelis and Pablo Zabaleta in the four man backline as Argentina head coach Alejandro Sabella stayed with Lionel Messi, Gonzalo Higuain and Ezequiel Lavezzi to lead the attack in search of scoring more goals at this year’s World Cup.

Demichelis replaces Federico Fernandez at centre-back.

Fernando Gago starts on the bench as Lucas Biglia gets a starting place alongside Javier Mascherano and Angel Di Maria, as Sabella makes three changes to the side that started the last time out.

For Belgium, head coach Marc Wilmots makes just one change to the team that started against the United States on Tuesday, with Kevin Mirallas starting ahead of Dries Mertens, who is back on the bench.

Divock Origi, who is having a very productive World Cup thus far, continues to lead the attack with Romelu Lukaku staying on the bench, despite scoring in the round of 16 victory over USA.

Argentina and Belgium are two of the three teams, the next being the Netherlands, which have won all four of their 2014 World Cup games so far.

The winner of this game will face the winner of the clash between the Netherlands and Costa Rica in the semi-finals.
