ARLINGTON, Tex. (Sporting Alert, Box Scores) — Results and Box Scores from the top 25 NCAA college football games that took place on Saturday, Aug. 30.

Top ranked and defending champion Florida State, No. 2 Alabama, No. 4 Oklahoma, No. 5 Ohio State, No. 6 Auburn and No. 7 UCLA, all secured victories on the busy afternoon of action.

Florida State were made to work by a very young, but exciting Oklahoma State side, but managed to hold on for a 37-31 victory in Arlington, Texas.

It wasn’t the happiest of returns for Jameis Winston as the star quarterback struggled at time for the Seminoles and his two interceptions almost cost his team a win.

Recording a victory as well on the day was Alabama, who also looked a bit shaky in their opener, but did take a 33-23 result of West Virginia.

Oklahoma 48, crushed Louisiana Tech, 16 and Ohio State had to work for a 34-17 victory over the Navy as the top five teams opened successfully.

Elsewhere, Auburn, 45 beat Arkansas, 21; UCLA, 28 edged Virginia, 20; No. 3 Oregon hammered South Dakota, 62-13; while No. 13 LSU rallied to beat the 14th ranked Wisconsin 28-24 in an exciting encounter.
