DOHA, Qatar (November 26) —— The latest FIFA World Cup 2022 scores and results from the four games played on Day 7 –Saturday, November 26. All four games finished with a winner, including Lionel Messi’s Argentina which starved off an early exit from the tournament with a win over Mexico.

Messi scored another crucial goal for Argentina in the 2-0 win over Mexico in Group C on Saturday to stay in contention for booking a place in the knockout round. Earlier in the group, Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski scored his first World Cup goal as Poland beat Saudi Arabia 2-0 as well.

Today’s win for Poland and Lewandowski moved them up to the top of Group C with four points with one game left while Messi and Argentina jumped to second place after rebounding from the surprising 2-1 defeat to Saudi Arabia in the group’s opening game.

Meanwhile, two goals from standout forward Kylian Mbappe carried the defending champions France to a 2-1 win over Denmark to laid down a marker and become the first team to secure passage into the knockout stage. Former Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen headed home the only goal today for Denmark who were left disappointed about losing to France.

Earlier, Australia beat Tunisia 1-0 to stay in the hunt for a knockout spot to bounce back from the 4-1 loss to France in the group opener earlier in the week.
