LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No. 7 Nebraska volleyball team suffered a five-set defeat to No. 9 Oregon in an 2022 NCAA Women’s Volleyball Championship Third Round /NCAA regional semifinal on Thursday at the KFC Yum! Center. The following are the latest results from the 2022 NCAA regional tournament on December 8.
The ninth-ranked Ducks secured a 25-14, 24-26, 25-22, 30-32, 11-15 win against the Huskers in an exciting contest that saw game four needed to be decided by the two-game extra play. Today’s defeat sees Nebraska finished the season at 26-6 and had their nation-leading streak of 10 straight NCAA regional final appearances snapped.
Mimi Colyer led the Oregon Ducks (26-5) with 26 kills, while Brooke Nuneviller added 16 kills and Morgan Lewis finished with 13. Hannah Pukis ended with 57 assists, Georgia Murphy had 21 digs and Hannah Pukis finished with 20 digs.
Lindsay Krause led Nebraska with 16 kills along with a career-best six blocks, while Ally Batenhorst had 15 kills and Whitney Lauenstein with 12, also produced double-figure kills.
In other 2022 NCAA Women’s Volleyball Championship Third Round /NCAA regional semifinal results, Louisville swept aside Baylor 3-0 with a 25-23, 25-16, 25-17 win, while Ohio State beat Minnesota 22-25, 21-25, 25-21, 25-19 for a 3-1 victory.
