GEORGE TOWN, CAYMAN ISLANDS – Watch Usain Bolt gets his Olympic campaign underway with live streaming from the 2016 Cayman Invitational on Saturday (14).

Bolt, who will be hoping to defend his Olympic Games 100m and 200m sprint titles in Rio, later this summer, will open his season over the 100m against countryman and teammate Kemar Bailey-Cole, the Commonwealth Games champion, as well as Cayman Islands’ national record holder Kemar Hyman.

The outing will be Bolt’s first over the 100m since his victorious run last year at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China, and the six-time Olympic champion is hoping to post a fast time at Truman Bodden Stadium in George Town.

“This is my first race, so you never know what to expect, because race fitness is different from training,” the Jamaica said.

“The way I feel I should run a good time, because I train with (Yohan) Blake, who ran a good time (9.95) already this season.”

He added: “I don’t know what to expect. Most of my friends have bet on how fast I am going to run.

“I have 9.91, so we will see how that goes.

“The fastest time is 9.86 so I will see how it works out,” said Bolt who spoke at a press conference on Thursday shortly after arriving in Grand Cayman.

“I am going out there to run hard because I need to see where I am at this stage of the season and see what I need to work on, it’s all about execution.”

The world record holder will race in the last event on the night.

Besides Bolt, the meeting will also see American 2011 world champion Carmelita Jeter going up against compatriot Jenna Prandini, who has already broken 11-seconds the season, as well as Jamaicans Kerron Stewart and Jura Levy in the women’s 100m.

Britain’s world championships 200m finalist Zharnel Hughes, 2014 World junior champion Machel Cedenio of Trinidad and Tobago and USA’s Kendra Harrison will also compete at the meeting.
