Ike Diogu ended with 10 points and eight rebounds in the victory for the Knicks, which outscored the Wizards 30-16 in the second quarter as they build the sizable lead.
Bradley Beal led Washington with 21 points, with John Wall finishing with 14 points and eight assists in the defeat.
Martell Webster scored 13 points and Kevin Seraphin chipped in with 11 points and seven boards, for the Wizards, who shot just 16-percent on 5-of-31 from behind the arc.
New York starting guard Iman Shumpert was forced to leave the game after he sprained his right elbow late in the first quarter, following a tangled with Beal.
He played just 10-minutes and went 2-for-4 from the field and scored four points.
