BURTON, Sporting Alert – Jurgen Klopp is scheduled to field a strong Liverpool side in Tuesday’s EFL Cup against Sky Bet Championship side Burton on the road.

The second round game at Pirelli Stadium will be streamed live on LFCTV GO and can be watched live in the UK on Sky Sports 1/HD. Live scores will be available on www.livescores.com and out live football score page.

In the past, managers at the top flight clubs, and especially those with big squads, would use cup competitions to give fringe players a run out when things are too tight for them to play in Premier League matches.

However, with Liverpool not having to deal with European football this season there is less pressure and travelling miles on the squad, which means that Klopp will be taking less risk this term in cup games.

The German, who is not looking to sign any more new players in this transfer window, intends to build some rhythm after watching his side beat Arsenal in the opening week of the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium and then suffered a 2-0 defeat at newly promoted Burnley a week later.

Former Borussia Dortmund boss admits that he will make some adjustments to his last line-up, but revealed that it will be minimum.

“We will make changes but not big changes, it is not really likely we change seven or eight positions,” he said.

“Of course we respect the opponent but it is not the moment to rest someone but we have a few players who are now in a good shape and they have two weeks’ more pre-season, if you like, more to train.

“I cannot give all players together the opportunity to play. Sometimes we have to work longer to change the situation.”

He added: “Of course each week in which they can’t or didn’t play it is not too good for a player but that is how it is in football, you accept this when you start playing the game.

“The only thing a player can do is work as hard as possible, to perform in each session and then the manger has to make a decision.”
