Soccer: UEFA Champions League

Eto’o made his debut for the Blues over the weekend in EPL, but this will be Willian’s first taste of action with his new side since joining the club late in the summer.

As expected Frank Lampard, who captain’s the side tonight and Oscar both start as manager Jose Mourinho makes five changes from the side that was beaten at Everton.

David Luiz and Gary Cahill start at the back, Marco van Ginkel plays in midfield with the suspended Ramires out, but striker Fernando Torres has been left out of the squad altogether, with Demba Ba on the bench.

Chelsea will be hoping to bounce back from the English Premier League defeat to Everton over the weekend and the manager is hoping for a good start as he seeks another European Champions League title, this time with his most favourite club.

“If you win [the UEFA Champions League] once you dream to win it twice,” Mourinho, who won the crown with Porto and Inter Milan said. “It’s the same with me: I won it twice – I dream to win it for a third time.

“But I have to focus not in the past but in the future. I want to win for the third time – I want Chelsea to win for the second time.”

Statistics have shown that will be Basel’s 11th game in England and the Swiss club are yet to register a victory from those outings.
