LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Andre Schurrle and Marco van Ginkel could make their debuts for Chelsea on Sunday as manager Jose Mourinho makes a return to the English Premier League against Hull City at Stamford Bridge.

Schurrle and Van Ginkel, who joined the Blues this summer, have made positive impressions during the preseason and Mourinho could very well hand them both debut runs in the season opener.

David Luiz, who has been linked with Barcelona, is set to miss the game on Sunday, as too could Cesar Azpilicueta.

David Luiz is injured. He couldn’t play for Brazil so is out,’ Mourinho said on Chelseafc.com. ‘Moses I don’t know, I saw him in the airport when we landed from the US, he played in South Africa, I don’t know. I don’t select him for Sunday. He came from United States, played in South Africa and arrived back on Friday.

‘Probably I won’t select [Cesar]Azpilicueta, because he is the same. From Ecuador to be on the bench back to London. This type of decision is based on national team matches but the only injury is David, the others will be an option.

Mourinho will also have to make a decision on which striker will start on Sunday, with Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Romelu Lukaku his main options.

Hull City manager, Steve Bruce, meanwhile, is expected to hand Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore debuts, following their moves this summer from Tottenham, while Danny Graham and Yannick Sagbo are also expected to play some part.
