Liverpool preseason friendly fixtures start against Chester FC on Saturday with Fabinho and Naby Keita set to make their debuts for the Reds.

Liverpool will open the 2018 preseason friendly fixtures against Chester FC on Saturday and manager Jurgen Klopp is set to hand both Fabinho and Naby Keita their debuts.

Liverpool boss plans to play two different teams in the game at the Swansway Chester Stadium.

Klopp has named his new summer recruit Fabinho in his starting lineup for the opening 45 minutes and he intends to play Keita in the second half.

Alberto Moreno will captain the English Premier League side in the first half, while James Milner will lead the squad after half-time.

Defender Joe Gomez has recovered from an ankle injury to take his place in the backline, but fellow defender Joel Matip and midfielder Adam Lallana miss out due to injuries.

Nat Phillips has also been named in the back four and he’s the only player expected to feature in both halves.

Klopp suggested, though, that the 21-year-old will get a break at around the hour mark.

Dominic Solanke, Divock Origi, who is expected to leave Anfield this summer and goalkeeper Loris Karius will also start in the first half.

Striker Danny Ings, who has asked Klopp to leave the club for more first team time, will feature in the second half, alongside Daniel Sturridge

Second-half team: Ward, Robertson, Klavan, Phillips (Chirivella), Camacho, Milner, Keita, Kent, Ojo, Ings, Sturridge.

Chester: Shenton, Smalley, Pritchard, Burton, Moran, Howson, Roberts, Stopforth, Archer, Hughes, Mahon. Subs: Thomson, Downes, Mooney, Hellawell, Brown, Murray, Noble, Marsh-Hughes, Trialist.
