Clippers, Hawks Win: Latest NBA Scores On Oct. 29

LOS ANGELES — Blake Griffin, for the second straight night, led the Los Angeles Clippers on offense with a strong performance.

After helping the Clippers (2-0) fend off Sacramento in the season opener on the road on Wednesday night, Griffin collected 26 points and 10 rebounds in his team’s 104-88 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night in the home opener at Staples Center.

Guard Jamal Crawford came off the bench to score 15 points, Austin Rivers supported with 14 points off the bench as well and J.J. Redick ended with 12.

DeAndre Jordan, who opted out of a summer move to Dallas during the offseason, had 15 rebounds, six points and four blocked shots on the night, but point guard Chris Paul was only 3 of 8 from the field and finished with nine points and five assists.

John Jenkins scored 17 points and six rebounds and Dirk Nowitzki added 16 points for the Mavericks.

J.J. Barea had 12 points and nine assists and Devin Harris ended with 12 points and six helpers for Dallas, which played without new guards Deron Williams and Wesley Matthews, who are still out injured.


NEW YORK — Jeff Teague scored 23 points and the Atlanta Hawks (1-1) defeated the New York Knicks 112-101 in an NBA game at Madison Square Garden on Thursday night.

Teague, who shot 7 of 12 from the floor, also dished out eight assists and grabbed four rebounds in 30 minutes.

Al Horford added 21 points and nine rebounds, Kyle Korver had 15 points and seven rebounds and Paul Millsap collected 11 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and five steals in the win for Atlanta, which rebounded from the 106-94 season-opening defeat to the Pistons.

Carmelo Anthony scored 25 points and had seven rebounds and three steals, but was 0 of 7 from three-point range, while shooting was 10 of 27 from the field overall for New York,

Robin Lopez finished with 18 points, Kyle O’Quinn had 10 points and 10 rebounds off the bench and Kristaps Porzingis ended with 10 points, eight rebounds and three steals in the defeat for the Knicks (1-1).


INDIANAPOLIS — Marc Gasol scored 20 points and the Memphis Grizzlies (1-1) picked up a 112-103 win over the Indiana Pacers (0-2) to bounce back from their season-opening defeat on Thursday night.

Gasol shot 7 of 13 from the field and pulled down eight rebounds, while point guard Mike Conley finished with 13 points and 10 assists and Beno Udrih collected 13 points and six helpers in the win.

Jeff Green went 5 of 6 from the floor, including 2 of 2 from long-range to chip in with 12 points, and Zach Randolph had 11 points and eight boards for Memphis.

George Hill scored 20 points to lead the way for Indiana, with Paul George and C.J. Miles each contributing 18 in the loss.
