NO. 3 MICHIGAN STATE 76, BINGHAMTON 33
EAST LANSING, Mich. — Denzel Valentine collected a double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds to help No. 3 Michigan State hammered Binghamton 76-33 in NBA action on Saturday.
Valentine, who is averaging 20.5 points, 8.4 assists and 8.4 rebounds per game, while shooting 46.4 percent from the floor overall this season, was 5-for-9 from the floor and scored all of his points in the opening 10 minutes of the game, while dishing out four assists.
Bryn Forbes scored 14 points and Eron Harris added 11 off the bench for the Spartans (9-0) who remained undefeated this season.
Michigan State led 41-12 at halftime.
Justin McFadden scored 10 points to lead the way for Binghamton (2-5), which went 10-for-60 from the floor for 16.7 percent.
The Bearcats were also 2-for-17 from 3-point range in the defeat.
NO. 4 KANSAS 75, HARVARD 69
LAWRENCE, Kan. — Frank Mason III scored 21 points and No. 4 Kansas held off Harvard for a 75-69 victory in a college basketball game on Saturday night.
Mason III featured for 38 minutes and went 7-for-11 from the floor on shooting, while dishing out five assists and collecting four steals for the Jayhawks (6-1).
Perry Ellis added 12, four rebounds, three assists and two steals and Devonte’ Graham also had 12 points with four rebounds, three assists and three steals for Kansas, which won five straight games since losing to Michigan State in the second game of the season.
Weisner Perez had 15 points and nine rebounds off the bench to lead the way for Harvard, which shot 43.9 percent from the field.
Tommy McCarthy ended with 11 points and five assists and Zena Edosomwan collected 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Crimson (2-6) who are on their second three-game losing streak on the term.
NO. 7 DUKE 82, BUFFALO 59
DURHAM, N.C. — Brandon Ingram scored 23 points and Grayson Allen collected a double-double for Duke in its 82-59 win over Buffalo in their college basketball fixture on Saturday.
Ingram, who scored 24 points in the victory over Indiana on Wednesday, was impressive again for the Blue Devils (8-1) after shooting 8-of-15 and grabbed eight rebounds and four blocks in the win.
Allen added 22 and a career-best 11 rebounds and Amile Jefferson finished with 13 points and eight boards for Duke, which won its sixth straight game, despite shooting a season-low 40.7 percent and going just 5-of-14 from 3-pointers, which matched a season low.
CJ Massinburg scored 17 points to lead the Bulls (4-4) with Lamonte Bearden adding 10 for Buffalo, which dropped two in a row.
