College Basketball Top 25 Games, Previews, Channels: Feb. 6

MANHATTAN, KS, Sporting Alert – College basketball top 25 games and ESPN3 streaming fixtures for this coming weekend, Saturday, February 6.

No. 1 Oklahoma is among the teams on the schedule for this weekend, along with No. 2 North Carolina and No. 3 Villanova.

The Sooners (19-2, 7-2 Big 12), who are the best 3-point shooting team in the Big 12 and indeed in the country, travel to Manhattan, Kansas, to take on Kansas State at the Bramlage Coliseum. This game will be live on ESPNU and streaming on WatchESPN, tipping off at 6:00 PM ET

Senior guard Buddy Hield is a man bang on form this season for Oklahoma, and he enters this contest averaging 25.8 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game, while shooting 51.7 percent from 3-point range and making 4.3 from long-range per game.

His supporting cast is also formidable, with Isaiah Cousins showing great form recently — averaging 17.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, 6.0 assists and shooting 61.4 from the field and 72.2 from long-range in the last 5 games.

Hield and the Sooners, who are tied for first in the Big 12 with West Virginia heading into Saturday’s game — are hunting their 5th-straight victory this weekend.

Meanwhile, according to ESPN Stats and Info, Hield, who has scored at least 30 points in eight games thus far, is only three shy of drawing level with Kevin Durant for the second-most 30 point games in a single Big 12 season. Both sharp shooters trail Michael Beasley, who has 13.

Kansas State, in the meantime, sits third from bottom in the college basketball Big 12 conference standings.

The Wildcats (13-9) are 2-7 in conference play and have dropped two of the last three games and seven in the last 10 overall.

Second-ranked North Carolina will take on Notre Dame in a key ACC battle at the Purcell Pavilion in South Bend, Indiana, hoping to bounce back from the defeat to No. 19 Louisville.

The Tar Heels (19-3, 8-1 ACC) struggled to shoot the ball from the field against the Cardinals and were beaten 72-65 on Monday, and the ACC leaders will try to avoid a second straight road loss.

Brice Johnson leads North Carolina this season with 16.7 points and 10.2 rebounds per game.

The Fighting Irish (15-7, 6-4) are coming off a 79-70 defeat against No. 17 Miami on Wednesday night.

Elsewhere in college basketball top 25 fixtures, No. 3 Villanova (19-3, 9-1 Big East) and No. 11 Providence will battle at Dunkin Donuts Center in Rhode Island, No. 4 Maryland (20-3, 9-2 Big Ten) play host to No. 18 Purdue (19-4, 7-3 Big Ten) at XFINITY Center, No. 6 Xavier (20-2, 8-2 Big East) to takes on Marquette (15-8, 4-6 Big East) while No. 7 Kansas (18-4, 6-3 Big 12) looks to stay the race for the Big 12 regular season title when it face TCU (10-12, 1-8 Big 12) on the road.

No. 9 Virginia (18-4, 7-3 ACC) and No. 10 Michigan State (19-4, 6-4 Big Ten) are the other college basketball top 10 ranked teams in action on Saturday.
