MADISON, WI, Sporting Alert – College Football Week 7 gets going this weekend with another packed schedule on Saturday, Oct. 15.
Among the AP Top 25 ranked teams on the list on the schedule for this weekend are No. 1 Alabama, No. 2 Ohio State and No. 3 Clemson.
In the midst of that, there are three AP Top 25 ranked v ranked matchups, including the highlighted battle between the second-ranked Buckeyes and the No. 8 Wisconsin at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison.
Ohio State is one of the favourite to earn a place in the College Football Playoffs semi-finals and a victory over the Badgers (4-1, 1-1 Big Ten) this weekend will make a strong statement to the CFP selection committee.
The Buckeyes (5-0, 2-0 Big Ten) are coming off a 38-17 victory over Indiana last week while Wisconsin is looking to bounce back from its first loss of the season, a 14-7 defeat at Michigan.
Live coverage of this game is live on ABC, starting at 8:00pm, and streaming live on WatchESPN.
Urban Meyer side beat the Badgers 59-0 in the last meeting two these two sides in 2014.
Vegas Insider current line has Ohio State as 10.5 point favourite, with the game total sitting at 44.
At Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, No. 1 Alabama is at No. 9 Tennessee – a SEC matchup that is expected be very tightly contested.
A triumph for Alabama would give Nick Saban’s side its 10th win in a row against the Volunteers (5-1) and its 18th victory in a row overall, dating back to Sept. 26 of last year.
Both teams, especially Tennessee, have been starting slowly this season and then picking up the pace during the second half so it will be interesting to see what the combined scores will be at the end of the day.
If the Vols are going to get the better of Alabama in Week 7, they will have to find a way to produce their second-half performance for the entire game.
According to bettingnews.com, on the betting side, Vegas Insider current line listed the Crimson Tide (6-0) as -12.5 point favourites, while the game total is sitting at 57.5.
Game time for this encounter is at 3:30pm and is live on CBS.
The other AP Top 25 ranked v ranked college football battle in Week 7 will come from the Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville, where No. 12 Ole Miss travel to No. 22 Arkansas for a 7:00pm kickoff.
Live coverage will be on ESPN and streaming on WatchESPN.
According to Vegas Insider, Mississippi is favoured by 7.5 points, while the game total is 67.
In other games on the schedule for this weekend, No. 17 Virginia Tech hunts its fourth win in a row when it takes a 19.5 point favoured advantage against Syracuse, No. 10 Nebraska travels to face Indiana in search of its sixth win this season, while No. 3 Clemson entertains NC State at Memorial Stadium.
No. 19 Oklahoma plays Kansas State in Norman, No. 14 Florida State entertains Wake Forest, the undefeated No. 11 Baylor Bears hosts Kansas, while North Carolina and No. 16 Miami will look to bounce back from respective defeats last weekend when they face-off at Hard Rock Stadium.
