KNOXVILLE, Tenn, Sporting Alert – AP Top 25 college football scores and results in Week 7 on Saturday, Oct. 15, with Alabama continuing to set the pace, while while Ohio State State and Clemson picked up overtime wins.

NO. 1 ALABAMA 49, NO. 9 TENNESSEE 10

Jalen Hurts ran for three touchdowns and No. 1 Alabama stifled the offense of Tennessee in a 49-10 victory over the No. 9 Volunteers.

Hurts, who carried the ball 12 times for 132 yards, ran for 45, 2 and 1 yard scores to help set up the victory for the defending College Football Playoffs champions.

The freshman quarterback also went 16 of 26 on completed passes for 143 yards, as the Crimson Tide (7-0) picked up their seventh straight victory his season and improved to 4-0 in the SEC this season.

After going down 14-0 in the first quarter, Tennessee managed to cut the score to 14-7 in the second quarter, but after that it was all Alabama once again.

Bo Scarbrough ran five times for 109 yards, including an 85 score in the fourth quarter, while ArDarius Stewart also ran for a touchdown in the win and Ronnie Harrison returned an interception 58 yards for a score.

There was no chance of any fourth-quarter comeback by Tennessee this week, as it fell to its second successive defeat and will certainly fall heavily in the AP Top 25 rankings in the next release.

The Vols were held to just 163 total yards on Saturday.

NO. 3 CLEMSON 24, NORTH CAROLINA STATE 17

Deshaun Watson found Artavis Scott with a 10-yard touchdown pass in overtime to guide No. 3 Clemson to a 24-17 win over North Carolina State.

Watson went 39 of 52 on completed passes for 378 yards and two touchdowns, while running for another score for the Tigers (7-0, 4-0 Atlantic Coast Conference).

Marcus Edmond finished with an interception in the end zone and K’Von Wallace also had an interception in the game.

Mike Williams took 12 catches for 146 yards and one touchdown for Clemson, which faces No. 14 Florida State next week.

Matthew Dayes ran for a two-yard score for NC State early in the fourth quarter to help send the game into overtime before Watson connected with Scott for the win.

Dayes ran 22 times for 106 yards and a touchdown for the Wolfpack (4-2, 1-1), with Jaylen Samuels taking eight catches for 100 yards in the defeat.

NC State had a chance to win the game in regulation time,  but Kyle Bambard saw his 33-yard field goal try sailing wide right.
