Complete World Cup Quarterfinals Results

SAO PAULO (SportingAlert) -- Full results from all the FIFA World Cup quarter-final games that took place last week.

There were four exciting quarter-finals at this year's World Cup tournament, with Germany, Brazil, Argentina and the Netherlands, all securing passages into the semi-finals.

The Netherlands, meanwhile, needed to come through a penalty shootout to earn their place after playing to a 0-0 tie with Costa Rica.

Goalkeeper Tim Krul, who was a last seconds extra time substitute by head coach Louis van Gaal, turned out to be the hero on the day after stopping two penalty kicks in his team's 4-3 shootout victory.

Hosts Brazil got by Colombia in their World Cup quarter-finals, but lost the services of star forward Neymar, who has been ruled out of the rest of the tournament with a back injury.

Winning in the quarter-finals as well, were Argentina and Germany.
