BYDGOSZCZ, Poland, Sporting Alert – The evening session on Day 4 of the IAAF World U20 Championships includes seven finals, while the exciting sprint relay heats will also be contested.
Four gold medals are up for the taking on the men’s side, with the high jump, hammer throw, 400m and 200m all being decided in Friday’s evening session.
The three finals on the women’s side on Day 4 are the long jump, 3000m Steeplechase and 400m hurdles.
Before that, though, the action on the fourth day of the IAAF World U20 Championships Bydgoszcz 2016 will get going at 6pm local time, 12pm ET, with the start of the heats for the women’s 4x100m relays.
Thirty minutes later, the men’s 4x100m relays heats will go off.
Also on the list of events for Friday evening are the 800m for the Heptathlon, which will complete the seven-event competition, the men’s 400m hurdles semi-finals and the women’s 200m semi-finals.
The men’s 400m hurdles will see Jamaica’s Jaheel Hyde going in the semi-finals and after cruising through the heats on Thursday, the World Junior champion in 2014 promised to lift the tempo in the semis.
When asked what to expect in the semi-final, Hyde said: “I will step on the gas some more to get a blow out.”
