Di Maria, who made the £59.7m from Real Madrid to Old Trafford this week, starts in place of Tom Cleverley, as manager Louis van Gaal named Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie all in the starting lineup for the clash.
Di Maria will play central alongside Darren Fletcher, with Jonny Evans, Phil Jones and Tyler Blackett start in the three man backline again.
Danny Welbeck, Anderson, Javier Hernandez and Adnan Januzaj are amongst the substitutes.
Meanwhile, Burnley, starts striker Lukas Jutkiewicz alongside Danny Ings, while former Manchester United reserve goalkeeper Tom Heaton keeps his place in an unchanged team from the last fixture.
